I am Legend- Richard Matheson , written the same year as The Lord Of The Rings, both great books.

The 5th wave Series- Rick Yancey
Monument 14 Series, Emmy Laybourne
The Maze Runner - James Dashner
Divergent Series (did not like the ending arghh!)- Bad Veronica Roth :(
The Hunger Games Series- Suzanne Collins
Gregor the Overlander - Suzanne Collins - if you liked any of the above books - you will love Suzannes Gregor and the Overlander Series!! Boots cracks me up !
